Helmholtz Excellence Networks
The Helmholtz Association supports Helmholtz Centers, which are involved in an excellence cluster of the German Excellence Initiative, by funding "Helmholtz Excellence Networks" comprising partners from the Helmholtz as well as the university side.
This allows combining the the complementary expertise and infrastructure of research institutes within the Helmholtz Association and of universities.
Together with the Cluster of Excellence "Precision Physics, Fundamental Interactions and Structure of Matter" (PRISMA+)” at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, a “Helmholtz Excellence Network” comprising three projects in the field of “Matter and Universe” have started at the Helmholtz Institute Mainz in 2017.
